Friday Foodies: Ice Cream Bread
We visited for the week at my family’s place. Everytime we see my nieces and nephew we try to make some sort of food concoction. I have been searching Pinterest for some new recipes and I happened upon one for ice cream bread. That’s right. Ice. Cream. Bread. Hmmm. Let’s see how it will taste.
It is only two ingredients. Ice cream and self-rising flour. Seems legit, right?
Alright, so take one and a half cups of flour and two cups of ice cream, any flavor you would like. It works better with it softened. Mix it together.
We did not wait until it softened a lot, so it was a bit difficult to get it mixed quickly.
This batch was Monster Cookie ice cream from Target. Yummy by itself for sure! Pour it into a greased/buttered bread pan and then toss it into the oven for 45 minutes.

Ours was a bit on the dry side. Maybe less flour next time. I am super surprised it came out bread-like. I guess it makes sense, though. Flour and a liquid (when the ice cream melts) to make a dough. Don’t get me wrong, it did taste good though. The bread was sweeter than usual with the ice cream added in.
